National Day of Service (May 2009)

On May 8, 2009, SULYP participated in the National Day of Service. SULYP was one of 64 YP Chapters around the United States that delivered a financial literacy curriculum to high school students. The marketing class at Garfield High School was SULYP's target audience for the exercise. There were 23 students who participated in the program led by Janay McClarin.

Health Walk Series - Have you been thinking about getting your work out on, but just haven't found the motivation? We engaged in a healthy series of mile walks alongside SULYP members and friends, who are actively seeking to lead healthier lifestyles. The final walk activity was part of the Beat The Bridge Walk on May 17 at 7:15 AM at Husky Stadium

African American Legislative Day (February 2009)

SULYP in partnership with Tabor 100 journeyed down to Olympia, Washington for the annual African American Legislative Day. We toured the Capitol, were briefed on the issues on the Legislative agenda, met with state representatives and senators, attended senate and house hearings, and learned how to more effectively lobby our legislators.
